from 1800 reviewsI decided to try Légère reads on my tenor after hearing a Légère artist play a recital, supported by Légère. It was love at first toot! I have Signature, French and American cut tenor reeds, and they all work well. I’ll be using them in marching band this season with the Queer Big Apple Corps Marching Band. So last month, I tried a couple of alto reeds and they too are terrific!
This is one of my favorite reeds to play on. Love the sound - works best with the music I play with the concert band Im in. These reeds seem to last a good amount of time, much longer than traditional reeds.
I am a Amateur Trumpet player branching to Saxophone. I never liked bamboo reeds, then I found Legere. That changed everything. Thank you.
Very great reeds, durable and loud, very vocal, and great range! (Just don't ever press down on the reed in the gap between the mouthpiece and reed it will break...)
I’m in the process of trying each Legere clarinet reed. The Signature has been the easiest to play for myself and my students. My students love it. If I were to order another for myself I would get a stronger reed. The one I purchased is a 2.75.
I am a beginner and trying to sort out the nuances of reed options. A saxophone is a big investment and at my level I need all the help I can get. I tried cane and two versions of Legere reeds. The French cut seems to give me the best sound. I may try the lower softer one but like the synthetic reed concept.
I've been playing the American Cut reeds on tenor for a while, and they've been terrific. I got a new mouthpiece with a slightly wider tip opening than the one I'd been playing on, so I got a softer Légère. It worked very well. I've already played a concert on my new setup, and it was a pleasure. I love knowing how the reed is going to play before I even put it on the mouthpiece. Definitely recommended!
This is a great reed. I thoroughly enjoy playing with it over cane. It is easy to play and has good articulation quality. Low register is very good but not quite as good as some others. Great all around reed.
I have been using Legere reeds for a couple of years on my tenor sax and finally made the change to Legere on my alto sax. No more dead reeds in the middle of a gig. Just ez pz.
I started using Legere reeds on tenor a few months ago. I really liked them and got compliments on the sound. But I did get a few surprising comments, such as: “I played on a “plastic reed” a few years ago and didn’t like it, so I’m sticking to cane.” I’m still trying to convince some of these guys to try one of my Legere reeds.
Have been a long time Legere customer for my alto and tenor saxes, I have used Classic, Studio, American and now French Cut. I find them immediately usable and durable and they give me ease of articulation throughout the range of the instrument.
Reeds are no longer something I worry about! These reeds just plain work! My mouthpiece has a very open facing and the 2.0 to 2.25 allow my horn to speak (as well as I can!). It lets me concentrate on my playing!
